Tim & Coleen Shive: At Grand Valley Fleet Services (GVFS), our story is built on over 35 years of hands-on expertise and a deep connection to the Grand Valley. Owner, Tim Shive, has been a fixture in the tire and automotive industry since 1988. His journey has taken him from Grand Tire in Moab, Utah, to Gay Johnson’s Tire and Auto, TDS (Tire Distribution Center), GCR Tire and Auto, and Bridgestone. For 29 of those years, Tim worked out of the very same building on North Avenue, becoming a very familiar and trusted face to generations of local drivers. In 2022, Tim and his wife, Coleen, officially took the wheel, purchasing Mercer Automotive from founders Dave and Stephanie Mercer. Today we carry that legacy forward, combining big-industry knowledge with a “hometown” service feel. We believe that high-quality work comes from a team that truly cares about their environment. Coleen makes sure GVFS is more than just a repair shop-it’s a place where people enjoy coming to work. We prioritize a fun, supportive atmosphere and never miss a chance to celebrate. Nick Lopez: Nick has been working in the automotive world for 22 years as an ASE Certified Parts Specialist, with the last 5 years as our Head Service Writer. Nick loves to go fishing and spend time with his growing family. He loves working in the office and working with the guys on other projects. When asked why he loves working at GVFS, his response- “Everybody is awesome here!”
